William Deskin – Interim President of the Board of Directors

Mr. Deskin is a retired Senior Project Manager and Quality Consultant with over 40 years experience in the Aerospace Industry. He received his Bachelor of Engineering degree from Youngstown State University and spent thirty-eight years in various engineering and program management positions with Pratt & Whitney (P&W), a major supplier of aircraft engines. Post retirement activity as an independent consultant in Quality Management has included experience with more than a dozen companies across the USA. He has been a member of the board since November 2011 and currently serves as vice president.

Susan L. Taylor Esq.– Secretary 

Ms. Taylor is an attorney and shareholder with Perry & Taylor, P.A., specializing in Land Use, Zoning, and Governmental Law. She received her Juris Doctor from Oklahoma City University School of Law in 1995. Susan is a member of numerous organizations, including the Florida Bar Association, the Palm Beach County Bar Association, the Forum Club of the Palm Beaches, the Economic Forum of Palm Beach County, the Palm Beach County Planning Congress, and Leadership West Palm Beach (Class of 2014).. Ms. Taylor has been an adviser to and/or member of the Sunset House Board of Directors since 2005. She previously served as Vice President.

Stephen K. Denny – Treasurer

Mr. Denny is a local businessman who has had a longstanding professional career in Palm Beach County. He was President and owner of Stephen K. Denny Air Conditioning, Inc., and acts as a private real estate investor currently. Stephen has been involved in numerous volunteer organizations such as the CUB Scouts and Café Joshua. Mr. Denny has been with Sunset House since 2000, and presently serves as Treasurer.

Lynn Hankes, M.D., FASAM – Advisor to the Board

Doctor Lynn Hankes is a graduate of the University of Notre Dame and Georgetown University School of Medicine.  Over 30 years ago, he was among the 100 pioneer physicians in the entire country who passed the first certification exam in Addiction Medicine, and he is also an honored Fellow of the American Society of Addiction Medicine.  Dr. Hankes is a Clinical Professor Emeritus at the University of Washington  School  of Medicine in the Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences.  He served 13 years as the full-time Director of the Washington Physicians Health Program, and he is also a Past President of the Federation of State Physician Health Programs. Dr. Hankes is on the Advisory Boards of the Air Line Pilots Association and the Jupiter (FL) Medical Center Detox Unit. He is currently a member of the Board of Directors of the Florida Professionals Resource Network, a program that facilitates the rehabilitation of health professionals with substance use and mental disorders.

Al Peduzzi – Advisor to the Board, Past President 2000 - 2016

Mr. Peduzzi is a retired Aeronautical engineer. He spent 37 years working for Pratt and Whitney, designing and developing jet engines for both commercial and military applications. He received his B.S degree in Aeronautical Engineering from NYU, and his M.S. degree in Engineering Science from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute. While employed he managed projects for the United States Air Force and Navy, as well as NASA. Mr. Peduzzi has published papers on emissions reduction and advanced jet engine lubrication, and is a patent holder. He has also been a volunteer for Big Brothers of Palm Beach County and St. Paul of the Cross Catholic Church on Singer Island, FL. Al has been with Sunset House since 2000, and serves as President of the Board of Directors. He has been married for 43 years and has two grown children and three grandchildren.
