Nicholas Sharkey,
MS, Primary Therapist, Program Director of The Meadows Counseling Center & Sunset House Recovery
Nicholas Sharkey, born and raised in South Florida, received a Bachelor of Science in Psychology before earning a Master of Science in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Nova Southeastern University. With a strong academic foundation and extensive training, Nick has developed a deep understanding of mental health and therapeutic practices. As a dedicated therapist and program director, he combines his expertise with a compassionate approach to support clients in their journey towards personal growth and emotional well-being. Nick is committed to creating a safe and nurturing environment where individuals can explore their feelings, address their challenges, and develop effective coping strategies.
Beyond his professional endeavors, Nick enjoys working on music, finding solace and creative expression in his musical pursuits. His love for helping others extends into all aspects of his life, driving him to continually seek ways to make a positive impact on those around him. Nick’s blend of professional competence and personal passion makes him a highly effective and empathetic practitioner, dedicated to fostering meaningful therapeutic relationships and promoting holistic mental health.




Jeffrey Jaskiel,
CAP, ICADC, CRRA, Director of Admissions
Jeffrey Jaskiel is more than just our Director of Admissions—he’s a passionate advocate for helping men find lasting recovery. As a Certified Addiction Professional, Jeffrey brings invaluable expertise to the Sunset House team, guiding clients through their personal recovery journeys and helping them build a foundation for success in the real world. His daily efforts ensure that our programs maintain their integrity while providing the support clients need to strengthen their path toward sobriety.
What makes Jeffrey’s approach truly unique is the depth of his life experience and his dedication to causes beyond the recovery community. A former commercial diver and professional fisherman, Jeffrey has competed in and won numerous fishing tournaments, even appearing on television programs showcasing his love for the sea. This adventurous spirit fuels his commitment to helping others navigate their own challenges. Jeffrey has also been a dedicated advocate for his local community, having helped run a food bank for the unhoused, providing essential support for those in need.
In addition to his hands-on work, Jeffrey holds a Bachelor of Science in psychology and is continually furthering his education to ensure he brings the latest insights to his role. His wide range of experiences, combined with his deep dedication to recovery, make him an invaluable resource for our clients and an essential part of the Sunset House family.
Whether it’s guiding a man through his first steps in recovery or leading him to long-term success, Jeffrey’s compassionate and knowledgeable approach is helping to change lives every day.



Dr. Duy Nguyen,
DO, Medical Director
Dr. Duy Nguyen graduated from Kansas City University of Medicine and Biosciences and completed residency training at Palm Beach Consortium for Graduate Medical Education in South Florida.
Dr. Nguyen is board-certified in psychiatry and has experience working in a variety of settings, including inpatient detox and residential substance and alcohol rehabilitation, as well as mental health treatment.
While Dr. Nguyen has been a long-time partner of Sunset House, he officially joined our staff as the Medical Director in 2022.
